Baseball Road Trip 2019!

A bit late posting these but still wanted to share some pictures from our latest baseball road trip.  We started in Pittsburgh on Friday night, moved to Erie on Saturday, and stopped into Akron on our way home Sunday.  Lot of games and lots of fun!

PNC Park is a beauty, and worth the price of the weekend by itself.
Dave found a great deal on tickets that included six (or more!)
pre-game craft beer samples

Couldn't go too far due to some 10K type event that was going on,
but we did make a pilgrimage to Heinz Field

The great view of downtown Pittsburgh as
seen from the top of Mount Washington

UPMC Park, home of the Erie Seawolves

Great views for our $13  :-)   Matt Manning
was dominant for Erie and should be a high
pick in the Friendship League 2021 Draft
A different viewpoint of Erie's park

Akron surprised us with a very modern and nice ballpark.

CAW!  CAW!  CAW!

Love the home of the RubberDucks!

A couple of cool guys who just happened
to wear matching Rubberduck shirts

Some wacky and affordable family fun

  1. Wow, great pics from a great trip. 3 games in 3 days; you guys did it up right. Hopefully the calendar works out better for next year, and we can get a larger contingent (including myself). Maybe a trip to Cleveland or Chicago, when the Tigers are there.....or, I would not be opposed to repeating the Grand Rapids trip -- such a fun time there, and an easy trip for all, including Randy.

  2. Was a lot of fun, hoping as always that more can join us on future trips.

Grand Rapids 2 Electric Boogaloo would be fun! Maybe combine with a visit to Randy's beloved Traverse City Pit Spitters?

I am somewhat interested in a run to Lansing in the middle of the last week of August to see Tigers #1 pick Riley Green in action for the visiting West Michigan Whitecaps. No hotel, go right home after the game. Let me know if anyone else may be interested in that.
